August Ames

August Ames was a Canadian adult film actress and model. She began her career in the adult entertainment industry in 2013 and quickly gained popularity for her performances and engaging personality. Ames was known for her striking looks and became a prominent figure in the adult film industry. She received multiple award nominations during her career, showcasing her talent and appeal to audiences.

In addition to her work in adult films, Ames was active on social media platforms, where she connected with her fans and shared insights into her life and career. Her openness about various topics related to the adult industry, mental health, and personal experiences resonated with many.

Tragically, August Ames passed away on December 5, 2017, at the age of 23. Her death brought attention to the issues of mental health and the pressures faced by individuals in the adult film industry.

I heard about August Ames on set at Brazzers from another Canadian male performer. He was sharing her Twitter account and commenting on how beautiful she is, particularly admiring her amazing breasts.  My initial experience working with August was in 2015 when she was booked to shoot with Johnny Sins and Vanessa Cage for Brazzers. The scene was titled “Lesbian Couple Massage,” where August and Vanessa portrayed a couple visiting Johnny, who played the role of a masseuse. She was a joy to work with and had a fantastic sense of humor.  During lunch, I sat across from August and Vanessa as they chatted about Canada. At one point, August casually mentioned, “There are a lot of Orientals in Toronto.” As soon as she said it, she realized I was there and looked visibly shocked. She quickly apologized, clarifying that she didn’t intend anything racist by it. I smiled and agreed, pointing out that there are indeed a lot of  “Orientals” in Toronto. That moment sparked an inside joke between her, fellow photographer Jeff Koga (who is of Japanese descent), and me.

After our first collaboration, we continued to work together on sets for Naughty America and Digital Playground. On the Digital Playground set, she starred in the feature “Broke College Girls.” August was always a delight on set, bringing smiles and laughter to the cast and crew—truly a beautiful goofball. Before her passing, she often talked about her huge crush on Donnie Yen from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
